Q: We don’t give tax receipts for donations. Here’s why.
We aren’t a charitable organization. We are a non-profit corporation promoting Timebanking for the good of the community.
While tax receipts benefit individuals opening their hearts and wallets to donate funds, we submit that the true essence of contributing lies in the impact it creates. Read a Timebanking story below as an example of the potential impact:
Sarah’s Second Chance” – A story of the impact of Timebanking:
Sarah, a single mother of two, struggled to balance her job at a local diner and the needs of her children, especially her eldest, Jamie, who was falling behind in school. She couldn’t afford a tutor, and the weight of Jamie’s struggles added to her daily stress.
When Sarah heard about Timebanking through a community meeting, she was intrigued. She decided to offer two hours a week of her fantastic baking skills in exchange for tutoring services for Jamie. Within weeks, Sarah was baking fresh pies and pastries for Mr. Thompson, an elderly gentleman in the community who missed the taste of homemade desserts after his wife passed away.
In exchange, Mr. Thompson, a retired teacher, started tutoring Jamie. Their sessions weren’t just about academics but about life, patience, and understanding. Jamie flourished, catching up in school and forming a heartwarming bond with Mr. Thompson.
The ripple effect of this exchange was profound. Sarah felt a sense of empowerment and hope, Jamie’s future looked brighter, and Mr. Thompson found purpose and companionship in his golden years. The community saw firsthand the transformative power of Timebanking, where skills, no matter how seemingly ordinary, could create extraordinary change.”
For a vision as transformative as Timebanking, the intangible benefits — strengthened communities, empowered individuals, and enhanced mutual respect — far outweigh the tangible ones. We invite you to be part of this visionary change and assure them their contribution will leave a lasting legacy.
